How to use a Vertical Autoclave.

Ilabot Technologies: Vertical Autoclave Manufacturer and Suppliers in India

An autoclave is a laboratory testing equipment used to carry out tests in different conditions i.e
multiple ambient conditions such has hot, humid, dry etc. Autoclaves help in determining the quality and performance of test products which once tested are approved for production or are labelled with best use conditions. Application of Autoclaves is wide, right from a making a needle to making a spacecraft, they help in testing the strength, durability and ideal performance parameters for metals, pharma products, organic and inorganic materials.

Autoclaves are a part of laboratory equipment family. They can be found in a variety of industries to perform sterilization and other scientific processes which are best carried out in high pressure and high temperature environment. Just an example: in the medical field, hospitals in particular. After each process, an instrument is ignored until the time it is sterile again i.e. free from all the alien compounds clinging on to it. A vertical autoclave can sterilize the instrument as needed.

There are different types of Autoclaves available in the market but the one we are going to talk about is Vertical Autoclave. What is it and how to use them.

Vertical Autoclave by Ilabot Technologies

Vertical autoclaves (click here to see product details and specifications), have a cylindrical shape which extends vertically when the capacity of the autoclave is increased. It has a stainless-steel internal test basket to keep the test material.  Then there is a heating element below the internal basket which enables an increase in temperature of the test basket and on the internal wall there is a temperature sensor and low water cut off device to safely turn off the vertical autoclave when the water supply runs short. To create an ideal test environment, it is sealed with a silicone rubber gasket.

How to use a Vertical Autoclave.

To create ideal test conditions, the first step is to close the water drain valve. Then fill the autoclave with water and the water level should always be more than the cut-off level.  You can always check the water level from the glass panel outside that indicates the correct water level. It is advisable to never use a vertical autoclave without water. Once, the water level is filled in, insert the test basket and close the lid. Once, it is confirmed that the autoclave is sealed, switch on the autoclave and set the required timer, temperature and pressure with a digital controller. You can release excess pressure and temperature by opening the valve and close it when the desired heat level is reached. The test is complete after the timer cycle is complete. Turn off the autoclave and release the steam from the release valve.

Types of Vertical Autoclaves available with Ilabot Technologies:

1. Economy Model – Without compromising with the quality and performance of the outer part and lid is made of painted mild steel and the inner part is made of stainless steel. The pressure inside the autoclave can be adjusted using the automatic pressure switch.
2. Deluxe Model – Both inside and outside components including the lid of this model are made of high-quality stainless steel. It has a radical locking system and the rings and stands are made of chrome finish mild steel.
3. Triple Walled Model – Widely regarded as the best sterilization autoclaves, our triple walled model has application in all fields. These consist of 2 empty spaces wherein steam is first collected in the first chamber and then passed on to the test chamber when needed.

All 3 vertical autoclaves are available in three capacity options of 35 ltr, 75 ltr and 111 ltr and these can be used with optional accessories such as:
Digital Temperature cum timer
RS232 printer connection
GMP construction
Dressing drums
Extra Gaskets
PLC + HMI controller
